New York Fashion Week - American football star and model Victor Cruz cut the ribbon to open New York's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week
Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli received an award for Courage, for his outstanding contribution to the fight against AIDS. Guests also watched a video tribute to late actress and style icon Dame Elizabeth Taylor, who was the organization's founding international chairman.
Another New York Fashion Week staple taking place February 8 was the Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection Fashion Show, the event which sees famous faces take to the runway wearing red gowns by some of America's best-known designers to raise awareness of heart disease.
Stars including Rose McGowan, Minka Kelly, Rebecca Romijn and supermodel Christie Brinkley starred in the show, with Brinkley taking a slight tumble but soon recovering as she took to the stage -- see the video here courtesy of The Telegraph. McGowan also had a slight mishap but recovered equally gracefully.
